Monitoring of the Sustainable Community Plan 2006-2011The Sustainable Community Plan 2006-2011 was adopted in December 2006. Since its adoption, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and partner agencies have been working collectively towards meeting the targets set within the action plan. Sustainable Community plan 2006-2011 action planThe action plan covers the nine themes detailed in the community plan document covering the Environment, the Economy, Leisure, Community safety, Transport, Housing, Health, Community engagement and Education. There are 152 actions within the action plan and the performance of these actions are monitored on a six monthly basis. Performance of the action plan has been monitored twice since its adoption (June and December 2007) with the December 2007 version titled the annual review report. Performance managementAt present, all those responsible for updating information on the action plan are contacted approximately 4-6 weeks before the deadline by the Research and Information Officer. Some actions only require a written update on the work completed over the six-month period, whereas others require a numerical response. The level of performance is monitored using a traffic light system (Red, Amber, Green grading method). Colours represent the following: Red - no progress made/ target failing A performance report is then compiled using the data received from all partners involved in the delivery of the Sustainable Community Plan. The report is presented to Management Board and Cabinet for progress to be noted. Plus more importantly, the report is presented to Tunbridge Wells Together for progress to be noted and focus placed on areas, which possibly require more support and resources. Annual ReviewTwelve months after adoption, 80% of actions within the action plan are on target or making some progress. This a 6% improvement from that recorded in June 2007.
